This Thursday features two lectures by exciting academics. The first, by anthropologist Bianca Williams (CUNY), is entitled “#HappinessIsPolitical: Black women, diasporic heart, and the journey of emotional wellness.” (see poster below for more information).
Later that afternoon, musicologist Tammy Kernodle (Miami University) will present a lecture: “‘Before I’d be a Slave’: Black Women Composers and the Promotion of Resistance Narratives in the Cold-war Era Concert Hall.” Dr. Kernodle’s talk will take place in NSL 404, Eastman.
